Pathways is an alternative education program offered to students who have dropped out of high school, or who are at risk of failure in their regular school environment. Pathways is made available through a cooperative effort between Lake Land College, the Regional Office of Education #3 in Vandalia, and the Regional Office of Education #11 in Charleston. Additional agreements with Paris District #95, Crestwood District #4, Marshall District #C-2, and Shelbybille District #4 and Casey-Westfield #C-4 help provide funding for the Shelbyville, Paris and Casey sites.
Currently Pathways has class sites at:
- Charleston (a.m.)
- Mattoon (a.m.& p.m.)
- Effingham (a.m. & p.m.)
- Paris (a.m. & p.m.)
- Shelbyville (a.m. & p.m.)
- Greenup (a.m. & p.m.)
- Casey (3:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.)
Morning classes meet from 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon classes meet from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the exception of Casey.
Eligibility:
- 16-21 years of age
- 5th grade reading level
- Resident of Lake Land College District or Regional Office of Education.
- Final decisions regarding admission will be made by Pathways Coordinator.
