Executive Committee Role
The fundamental purpose of the Executive Committee is to lead and manage the Board. The Committee’s leadership and management responsibilities include assuring a relevant strategic agenda, effective committees, well-prepared materials, well-managed meetings, and Board continuing education.
The Executive Committee organizes the Board into committees, directs the work of standing committees, plans Board meetings including the development of materials and agendas (with administrative support from board staff), and acts on behalf of the Board as needed. The Executive Committee receives and acts on recommendations from all other committees, and reviews all contracts before making recommendations to the Board.
